This picture just really kind of fills me with an emotion that I can't really describe. There's just something so bitter sweet about it, that as much as I wish the comic would keep going, I'm almost glad that zombie's life is a mystery. It would be one thing if he were sad about it, but he isn't. He's happy to move on, and this picture just kind of shows that in both lives he was loved and it can just be left at that.
Just knowing the character and looking at this picture, it's like for a second, we really know zombie. Like he's a vague memory in our minds, like he's a real person: a friend from a long time ago who you just found out was dead.
I think that takes a great amount of creativity: to be able to write a character who really just comes alive with so little written about him and then to be able to draw a picture that told more about the character than a thousands words would have been able to begin to.

I really like this drawing, it's like a story of it's own.

They dymanic between {...} and Hanna always reminds me of the relationship my sister and myself.. She's goofy and funny and spastic at times, and I just kind of follow her around and take care of her... There was an incident last summer where I almost died, I was in the hospital for a week and everything was a mess. This picture just makes me think, what if I lost my memory of my sister, or anyone in my life for that matter? She's my best friend, and I can't imagine going a day without at least talking to her over the phone. I know during the first few days in the hospital my brain was a mess, I have no memory of anything from Monday night to Wednesday evening but I've been told I was awake and talking and interacting with the nurses and my parents, even if it was unintelligent mumbling and screaming. What if I permanently damaged my brain, and there are pieces of my past that I'll never be able to recall? I can't be sad about it because I have no idea what I'm missing, and it would be impossible to regain anything that's already lost for good. All I can do is move forward with what I have. Lately I've been thinking about this more and more, and {...} has become easier for me to relate to. I like being able to identify with other people, even if they don't exist. It eases my mind a bit and makes me feel a little less insane when things are hard. Tessa, I don't think you'll ever see this, but on the off chance that you do, thank you. Thank you for creating something that has had such a strong impact on so many people, and whether or not we ever see this story finished, know that what you did share with us will always be appreciated and never forgotten. Best of luck to you and your future projects.

I have to say, this is my favorite picture you drew... ._.' I can't help but love Zombie's backstory.. Or my speculation of it, anyways. xD I always imagined him as a good guy who was killed protecting his girlfriend/unrequited love from a bunch of thieves/kidnappers/other, and wanted nothing but to tell her his feelings about her, or see her face again.. I'm a hopeless romantic, I know.. xD
